The opposition parties including the Congress, Samajwadi Party and BSP for the third day boycotted the Uttar Pradesh Assembly sessions. These parties sat in the Central hall and ran a parallel House, instead of participating in the proceedings of the House.

In his statement to PTI Congress Legislature Party leader Ajay Kumar Lalu said that the government was not taking the issues raised by the opposition seriously. The opposition also accused the treasury benches of threatening them and using unparliamentary language. He told that instead of discussing on issues related to law and order, farmers, and unemployment, raised by the opposition, the government was threatening the members. In order to demonstrate protest against such behavior and also marking the protest against the Leader of the House (Yogi-Adityanath), they ran a parallel house.

Kumar said that CM Yogi Adityanath did not take any initiative to end the protest and run the proceedings of the House smoothly. The opposition will continue with its ‘dharna’ he added. He also gave the example of Parliamentary Affairs minister Azam Khan, senior minister Shivpal Yadav and Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey who had reached to BJP member Upendra Tiwari who also sat on a dharna in the assembly session during the previous regime

Ajay informed that he was made the Leader of the House which the opposition was running parallel to the Assembly house, Ram Govind Chowdhury was the leader of the opposition and Lalji Verma was made Speaker. During the proceedings of the parallel house, the members condoled the death of BJP MLA Mathura Prasad Pal and said it was unfortunate that Chief Minister Yogi was not present in the House for condolence resolution as it has been a tradition that Leader of the House reads the resolution.
