In the latest development of INX media case, CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) had put up a 2-hour notice outside former Union Finance Minister’s residence. But any attempts to reach the leader went in vain.

Arshdeep Singh Khurana, the lawyer representing P Chidambaram had urged the CBI  not to take any coercive action until the hearing of Chidambaram’s plea in the Supreme Court which is slated to take place at 10.30 am today. He also emailed police chief that the notice fails to provide the mention of the provision under which his client P Chidambaram has been summoned.

On Tuesday, Delhi High court had rejected the anticipatory bail pleas of Former Union Finance Minister in INX Media corruption case. Justice Sunil Gaur was hearing the case and he dismissed both the petitions (in CBI and ED case). After putting up the notice, CBI officials reached Chidambaram’s Jor Bagh residence but couldn’t find him.

Chidambaram has denied allegations leveled against him and targeted that the ruling BJP-led government is pulling out a political vendetta. The leader had approached the Supreme court on 20.08.2019 seeking immediate reliefs in respect of the Order dated 20.08.2019 dismissing his anticipatory bail pleas.

Earlier on Monday, P Chidambaram was also summoned in aviation scandal related to the irregularities in air traffic rights. Enforcement Directorate has summoned the leader and told him to report to the investigative agency on August 23.
