A day ahead of the monsoon session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses all-party meet and urges the parties to run the sessions smoothly in both the houses.

On Sunday, while addressing the parties Modi said that the state should take strict actions against all those who are spreading violence in the name of cow vigilance. He urged that all parties should stand united to ensure the safety and security of the country and fight against terrorism. He also asked all the parties to stand together and support the government to fight against corruption communal violence.

Speaking about all the havoc created by different parties on the matter of CBI raids on Lalu Prasad Yadav, Modi said that legal actions should be taken against all the corrupt leaders and no one should be spared.

Parliamentary affairs minister Ananth Kumar, quoting the Prime Minister said that the states should take the strictest of actions against anti-social elements who break the law. CPM leader Sitaram Yechury raised the issue of lynching in various parts of the county. Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad expressed concern over the situation in Kashmir. Regarding the issue, he said that the people are feeling suffocated as the government has closed all the doors and windows. It should at least keep a ventilator open so that the people can breathe.

Talking about the progress in investments and expenditure, Modi highlighted that already 30% of the total expenditure has taken place in other sectors and 49% of expenditure is done in the field of infrastructure, before the beginning of the monsoon session. It is a big achievement for the government and will be of great help for the capital economy in future.

Narendra Modi thanked all the parties for extending their support on GST.
