An all-party meeting will be convened by Arvind Kejriwal, in Delhi. Members of the Monitoring Committee appointed by the Supreme Court will also be present. The matter to be discussed is the ongoing sealing drive against illegal commercial properties.

Members of BJP’s Delhi unit have also confirmed that they will be attending the meeting. The leaders include Delhi’s Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta. Manoj Tiwari will also be present despite not being sent a formal invitation. The all-party meeting held earlier in March at Arvind Kejriwal’s residence was not attended by the BJP representatives. A group consisting Tiwari has previously claimed being assaulted at Kejriwal’s residence during a meeting on sealing in February.

Delhi’s Congress Chief, Ajay Maken will not be attending this particular meeting but he said a three-member team of representatives will be sent. Maken had attended the first meeting on the issue. The sealing drive was begun in December 2017 by the Monitoring Committee and it was implemented via civic bodies. The sealing drive was initiated to seal businesses which are using residential premises for commercial purposes. This includes those commercial entities who have not paid the conversion charges according to the Master Plan of 2021.

Kejriwal’s meetings so far, mostly involving his residence have become famous for assault. The real content of these meetings leading to innovative solutions and plans of actions have been rarely reported in comparison. What this meeting will lead to is still yet to be seen. The sealing drive is important in terms of economics and corruption, which these days seem to go hand in hand.

Off late Kejriwal has been quite apologetic, only stopping short of apologising to Jaitley. The meeting will be an interesting one, rest assured. There’s much cleaning up to do for Kejriwal who along with his party has been coming clean on multiple defamation cases lately.
