P.C.George, an MLA from the Poonjar constituency of Kottayam, Kerala, joined the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Wednesday. The official announcement was made by BJP’s state president P.S. Sreedharan Pillai.

P.C. George, and his party Kerala Janapaksham joined the NDA on Wednesday. Talking to reporters BJP’s state President P.S. Sreedharan Pillai said that he found a very strong person in P.C. George. George reverted saying that it is BJP that respects the tradition and culture of the land and hence is happy to join the political party. He had also stood by the BJP candidate K Surendran before in matters of Sabarimala and the preservation of culture and tradition.

“The NDA candidate of Thiruvananthapuram will win this election with my party’s support,” said George. The NDA candidate of Thiruvananthapuram, Kummanam Rajasekharan left the position of the governor of Mizoram to contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from the state capital.

P.C. George also faces scrutiny regarding defaming the Kerala actress who underwent sexual abuse.The High Court of Kerala had earlier asked him as to why he had named the actress in his petition seeking the dismissal of the police case filed against him for naming the actress. The case registered against George held matters such as defaming the actress.
