Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday hailed his government for taking an important decision in its first Cabinet meeting of the second term. Taking to twitter Prime Minister said that his government’s priority is ‘People First and People Always‘.

He said his government in its very first meeting has taken many decisions that will benefit the small traders, Businessmen, and Farmers.

‘People first, people always. Glad that path-breaking decisions were taken in the Cabinet, the first in this tenure. Hardworking farmers and industrious traders will benefit greatly due to these decisions. The decisions will enhance the dignity and empowerment of several Indians’, said PM Modi in a tweet after the first Cabinet meeting on Saturday.

He also highlighted that some of the promises made by BJP in its poll manifesto have been fulfilled in first cabinet meet. It includes that promises such as PM-KISAN Scheme extended to all farmers irrespective of the land they own. Earlier it was supposed to give financial support to all small and marginal landholder farmers’ families with cultivable land holding up to two hectares.

Other Promises include Special scheme launch to control foot and Mouth Diseases in Livestock, monthly pension to small traders, Businessmen and self-employed citizens when they attain an age of 60.

All small traders and a self-employed person with GST below 1.5 crores and age between 18 to 40 are eligible for this scheme. They all will get Rs.3000 as pension when they attain an age of 60.

The First Cabinet Meeting that held on Friday was chaired by PM Narendra Modi.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi allocated Portfolios to all new Ministers inducted in his Cabinet 2.0. PM Narendra Modi in his Cabinet 2.0 made crucial changes replacing Rajnath Singh with Amit Shah for Home Ministry while Nirmala Sitharaman who held Defence Portfolio in previous government has now been allocated Finance Ministry in absence of Arun Jaitley.

Rajnath Singh has been appointed as the next Defence Minister replacing Nirmala Sitharaman.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi who got a massive mandate in recently held national polls, on Thursday took oath for the second term in an official function at Rashtrapati Bhawan. A total of 57 ministers along with PM Modi took oath at the ceremony held in the national capital.
