Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan slammed Amit Shah‘s remarks on Wayanad being another Pakistan, says he does not know the state’s glorious past.

Addressing an election campaign for P.P. Suneer, the LDF candidate in Wayanad, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan slammed Amit Shah’s comments which compared Wayanad to Pakistan.”Amit Shah does not have any knowledge of Wayanad and the role its people played in the freedom struggle. Wayanad’s Kurichiya tribe and the ruler Pazhassi Raja played a major role in the protests against colonialism. If at all he knew that, would he ever compare Wayanad to Pakistan?” asked Pinarayi Vijayan.

Responding to Amit Shah’s comments on comparing Wayanad to Pakistan, Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala said,”A case involving IPC 153(a) should be registered and he should be behind bars for passing such a statement about Wayanad.”

Referring to the Muslim League’s green flag during Rahul Gandhi‘s roadshow in Wayanad,  BJP President Amit Shah said ,”When a procession is taken out there, one would not be able to recognise if the place is India or Pakistan.” He was talking at a poll rally in Nagpur when he said this.

The LDF government had on Thursday moved the Election Commission slamming Amit Shah’s comments. At his roadshow in Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi had said,” I am here not to fight left parties and won’t utter a word against them. They can criticize me but we are together fighting aginst the BJP.”
