Prime Minister Narendra Modi who had on Friday filed his nomination papers for Varanasi Lok Sabha Seat declared a total worth of ₹2.5 crore including residential property in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar and a fixed deposit of ₹1.27 crore.

PM Modi also declared that he had an MA Degree from Gujarat University which he had completed in 1983. According to his affidavits filed by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, He had completed his graduation from Delhi University in 1978. He has named Jashodaben as his wife.

In his nomination papers, PM Modi declared that he holds ₹38,750 in cash. While he has a balance of 4143 in his saving account. He also owns 4 gold rings. PM Modi owns immovable assets worth ₹1.1 crore, while his movable assets are worth ₹1.4 crore. The immovable asset is his 3,531 sq ft plot in Gandhinagar.

He further revealed that the source of annual income is his salary as a PM and interest from Bank. However, Income of his wife Jasodaben is ‘Not Known’.

Narendra Modi in a run-up to the national elections 2014 had declared that he owns asset of Rs 1.65 crore. Modi had in 2014 General elections defeated AAP’Arvind Kejriwal with over 3.80 Lakh votes. Prior to Narendra Modi, BJP Senior Leader Murli Manohar Joshi represented the Varanasi Seat since 2009-2014. However, he has was shifted to Kanpur in 2014 after Narendra Modi decided to contest from Varanasi.

Narendra Modi in a run-up to the national elections 2019 will take on SP’s Shalini Yadav, a joint candidate of Mahagathbandhan. While Congress has named Ajay Rai from the Lok Sabha Seat.

General Elections have already started and would spread across all seven phases from April 11 to May 19. 80 seats of the state will go to polls in all seven phases starting from April 11 till May 19. Phase-IV of Voting is slated for April 29. Varanasi will go to polls on May 19.

Counting of votes will take place on May 23, four days after the final round of Polling.
