Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday is on a day visit to Mamata Banerjee‘s Bastion West Bengal. Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Public rally at Thakurnagar West Bengal applauded the Interim Budget 2019 present by Temporary Finance Minister Piyush Goyal on Friday in Lok Sabha.
While addressing, PM Modi said, ‘This is just the beginning, the main budget after Lok Sabha election will have much more for the youth, farmers, and other sections of the society’. He also racked up Mamata Banerjee and said, ‘Ye drishya(crowd) dekhne ke baad ab mujhe samajh mein aa raha hai ki didi hinsa pe kyun utar aayi hain’ [ After looking at the massive crowd I can now assume why Didi (Mamata Banerjee) is on Violent mode] PM added.

This is PM Modi’s first Poll rally in the state in a run-up to the Lok Sabha Polls 2019. Bhartiya Janta Party is targetting at least 50 per cent seats out of its total 42.
During his day visit to West Bengal, PM Modi apart from Thakurnagar will also address a rally in Durgapur. He will also launch a nearly 300-km-long electrified section of the railways and will inaugurate a 20-km-long Hijli-Narayangarh third line.
Prior to Narendra Modi’s visit, both Trinamool Congress and Bhartiya Janta Party indulged in a Poster war. The Saffron Party accused the state ruling party TMC of deliberately putting up chief minister Mamata Banerjee’s posters on top of that of the Prime Minister and said it was ‘undemocratic’
Just 50-70 metres away from the meeting venue of PM Modi in Durgapur, CM Mamata Banerjee’s posters are being put above PM’s banners. This is proof there is no democracy in West Bengal. When one of our workers protested against such activities he was attacked,” BJP National Secretary Rahul Sinha said reportedly.
Earlier on January 22, While kicking off BJP’s Poll Campaign in the State, BJP’s President Amit Shah in a rally attacked the TMC. The 2019 election is very important for Bengal. It is an election for the establishment of democracy in the state. It will decide whether TMC rule will continue or not.” said Amit Shah while launching scathing attacks on Mamata Banerjee led government. He added said that the saffron party will ‘fight for inches’.
Amit Shaha in his address also accused the Mamata Banerjee led Government of rigging Polls. He said, ‘This election won’t be like panchayat elections. Central forces will guard the polling centres.”
BJP has started his Poll campaign after a month-long legal fight over ‘Rath Yatra’. Supreme Court on January 15 refused to give a go-ahead for the BJP’s Yatra in West Bengal. The Apex Court, however, said that the BJP state unit can conduct meetings and rallies. SC said, if BJP comes out with a revised plan of fresh Yatra, that may be considered afresh later.
