In a bid to retain power in Centre, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kickoff his poll campaign from tomorrow with a one day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, said Bhartiya Janta Party General Secretary Ram Madhav on Wednesday.

While addressing the press, BJP’s General Secretary Ram Madhav said, ‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the Jammu and Kashmir on the very first day of his poll campaign that shows the party’s commitment towards the valley’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is in fray from UP’s Varanasi will begin its poll campaign and it’s expected to address over 175 massive rallies in next two months.

Ram Madhav who has announced the PM’s visit also hit out at National Conference and People’s Democratic Party – the two most powerful parties of the state – for boycotting the municipal and panchayat elections that held last year.

Madhav said, ‘Some regional parties had last year boycotted the municipal and panchayat polls, but now in the time of national elections, leaders from those parties are also in the poll race, It only shows instead of strengthening the democracy they just want to keep their seats intact’

Ram Madhav in the presser also hailed ASAT capability of India and lauded the achievements of the space scientist. He said, ‘We should refrain from politicizing this thing, We have achieved the capability of targeting low earth orbit satellites. He added that India has now a member of the elite group of Countries.

Bharatiya Janata Party in a run-up to the general elections 2019 has so far declared a total of 327 Candidates across all states.

Bhartiya Janta Party earlier in its first list of 184 Candidates announced Prime Minister Narendra Modi contesting from Varanasi, BJP President Amit Shah from Gandhi Nagar. While party in its other lists declared BJP Spokesperson Sambit Patra from Puri, Odisha, Smriti Irani from Amethi, Rajnath Singh from Lucknow, among others.

In Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP will take on the Mehbooba Mufti-led PDP, and National Conference who has announced its friendly tie-up with Indian National Congress.

Polling in six seats of Jammu and Kashmir will take place in five rounds. Polling in Anantnag Parliamentary Seat will take place in three phases – April 23, April 29 and May 6.

While Baramulla and Jammu constituencies will go to polls in the first phase while Srinagar and Udhampur constituencies will go to polls in the second phase.

In 2014 General Elections, banking on Modi wave, BJP had won three seats – Udhampur, Jammu and Ladakh Parliamentary Seats.
