Prime Minister Narendra Modi today on Monday inaugurated various development projects in the twin cities of Hubballi and Dharwad in Karnataka. PM Modi who also visited Tamil Nadu reached Karnataka in the evening. He was welcomed by BJP Senior Leaders of the state.

Soon after reaching the venue at KLE Institutions in the city’s outskirts, PM Modi first remotely laid the foundation stone of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-Dharwad) campus and the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi later dedicated to the nation the city distribution project at Dharwad and 1.5 million tonne Mangaluru and the 2.5 million tonnes Padur strategic petroleum reserve facility (SPR) facility of the Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Ltd (ISPRL).

PM Modi also inaugurated the doubling of 18-km-long Chikjajur-Mayakonda section railway line for passenger and freight services, and initiated the electrification work of the 346-km-long Hospeta-Hubballi-Vasco da Gama line in this region.

The doubling will increase the capacity of this vital route connecting Bengaluru to Mumbai via Hubballi, Belagavi, Goa, and Pune. The electrification of the broad gauge will reduce travel time and emission of greenhouse gases with lower diesel consumption.

PM Modi also attacked the Chief Minister during his Visit. PM Modi said, “Everyone is challenging him and it’s difficult to figure out who’s the in-charge of the state. They want to impose the same ‘Mazboor’ model on the entire country”.

In the past 4 years, our govt has continuously worked for the poor and the middle class. We are also preparing for the next generation infrastructure in the various cities of the country, said the prime minister.

While addressing the rally in Hubli, the Prime Minister asserted that the government was working with a vision for development for all, including children, youth, senior citizens and farmers, adding that projects worth Rs 5000 crores have been inaugurated a few moments ago which gives an impetus to the vision of development for all.

PM Modi also witnessed the e-griha pravesh (house-warming) of 2,384 houses built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana at Dharwad.
