Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to visit Varanasi today to inaugurate the statue of great Lal Bahadur Shashtri at the city’s airport and will also participate several other events. PM Modi will also start the BJP’s mega 5-week long membership drive from his parliamentary constituency.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to his parliamentary seat, will also launch a tree plantation drive.

PM Modi is slated to unveil the statue at 10:30 am at Airport and will launch the Tree Plantation Drive.

‘I look forward to being in Varanasi tomorrow, where I will take part in various programmes. The first programme is the unveiling of the great Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji’s statue at the airport. This will be followed by the programme marking the launch of a tree-plantation drive’, tweeted Narendra Modi on Friday.

In another tweet, he added, ‘On the Jayanti of our inspiration, Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, the Membership Drive will begin. I will be joining the programme in Kashi to mark the same. This drive will further connect people from all walks of life with the BJP family. It will strengthen our party’.

PM Modi is also slated to visit Virtual Museum later in the day. ‘Tomorrow afternoon in Varanasi, I will visit the Virtual Museum at Man Mahal. Situated near the iconic Dashashwamedh Ghat, this is a cultural landmark of the city. It showcases aspects of our great cultural heritage’, PM Modi said in a tweet on Friday.

During his visit to the parliamentary constituency, PM Modi will be accompanied by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Working President JP Nadda.

With the mega membership Drive, Bharatiya Janata Party has currently over 11 crore members and the party is trying to increase its membership by 20 percent with the mega campaign.

Senior Leaders have been tasked with the responsibility of making it bigger. PM Narendra Modi will begin membership drive from his parliamentary constituency Varanasi.

This is Narendra Modi second visit to Varanasi after being re-elected to the Lok Sabha Seat. Days after getting a big mandate, PM Modi had on May 27 visited Varanasi and thanked voters for re-electing him from the Lok Sabha Seat.
