On Friday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) parliamentary board met in Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP Party President Amit Shah was also a part of the high powered meeting in Delhi.

The meeting was scheduled to finalise BJP’s strategy for the Lok Sabha 2019. The meeting lasted for almost three hours.

However, no ‘official’ statement of the meeting is available for the public domain.

Sources said that PM Narendra Modi is likely to contest from Varanasi, it was pre-decided, they say.

However, the party is yet to confirm whether Narendra Modi is going to fight from any other constituency or not.

Previously, in 2014 election, Narendra Modi contested in 2 different seats and won both.

He won the seats from Vadodara and Varanasi in the previous election.

Narendra Modi, represents Varanasi in the current Lok Sabha.

There has been speculation that the Bharatiya Janata Party is considering some criteria for the candidates. Age-bar is amongst the so called criteria. However, no official statement is available for the same.

As sources revealed that, the ability to win is going to be the key consideration in candidates.

Following the meeting, Bhupender Yadav, BJP General Secretary , announced an alliance in Jharkhand with AJSU(All-Jharkhand Students Union).

All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) in Jharkhand, is already and an ally to the ruling BJP government in the state of Jharkhand.

The BJP General Secretary, Bhupender Yadav stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) is going to contest in 13 seats, out of total 14 seats in the state. The AJSU is set to contest in 1 seat, in Jharkhand.
