The Bira Munda jail authorities pasted a notice on the wall of the hospital ward of Lalu Prasad Yadav, barring all visitors from meeting the RJD President Lalu Prasad Yadav citing the “law and order” concerns. Lalu Prasad Yadav is in prison since December 2017.

The notice was signed by the Jail superintendent. He said that visiting the convicted was not allowed on April 20.

As per the manual provided by the jail for the convicted, three persons can meet Lalu Prasad Yadav every Saturday at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences where he is undergoing the treatment. However, Lalu Prasad Yadav was not permitted to meet any visitor this Saturday.

The RJD Jharkhand unit president Goutam Sagar Rana said that the police officials are trying to demoralize Lalu Prasad Yadav by not permitting him to meet the visitors. He asked the officials to give any evidence from the previous meetings that might have threatened the Law and order by the visitors. He said that, “We will tell Governor Droupadi Murmu about the barring of visitors to meet Lalu Prasad Yadav.” He also said that not allowing to visit RJD president on Saturdays is a violation of Human Rights.
