The Bangalore born Actor-turned Politician Prakash Raj on Saturday announced to campaign for Aam Aadmi Party in the national capital for polls due on May 12. Raj who has contested as an independent from Bangalore Central Lok Sabha Seat, will hold public meetings, Padyatras, to seek votes and galvanise support for the Delhi ruling party.

Aam Aadmi Party has already charted out the schedule for the national award winner.

Briefing the media, AAP senior Leader Gopal Rai said, ‘Famous film actor and activist @prakashraaj will campaign for Aam Aadmi Party from today onwards’.

“I’m not from Aam Aadmi Party but I’m one of those Aam Aadmis who looks up to the ideology and the work done by this Party and this is why I’m here to support AAP candidates,” said Prakash Raj addressing the media along with Gopal Rai.

Addressing the media, he also slammed BJP-led Central Government. Raj said that Problem with today’s government is that they don’t answer your questions rather posed a counter questions if you throw any question to them. When a question is raised, they say Congress in the last 60 years has done something. But this the reason why people had voted for you in 2014′.

He added that there is a need to ‘reclaim the republic’.

Prakash Raj had on January 1 announced to contest the mega polls 2019. We need people like Prakash Raj to enter Parliament. Prakash ji, it was great meeting u today. AAP fully supports u and we agree wid ur decision to fight as an independent candidate. We need independent and non-partisan voices too in Parliament,” Kejriwal tweeted after the meeting in January this year.

AAP has announced its support to Prakash Raj for Bangalore Central Lok Sabha Seat.

The Bengaluru born actor has been vocal about his views on the current BJP-led government at the Centre.

AAP is contesting all 7 seats in the national capital. The party has named Atishi from Delhi East, Raghav Chaddha from Delhi South, among others for the mega battle of ballots.

Lok Sabha Polls 2019 has already begun and would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19. Counting of Votes and Results for the mega Battle of ballots will be announced on May 23.

All 7 parliamentary seats of Delhi will vote on May 12. The Campaign for Phase V will come to halt on May 10.
