Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi held a meeting with senior party members on Friday in the national capital (at Rahul Gandhi’s residence) to monitor the political situation of the Uttar Pradesh state.

The senior party leaders briefed the national leader about the recent development in the state politics and apprised her on organizational issues of the party. Union ministers such as Jitin Prasad, RPN Singh, and Pradeep Jain were also reported to be present at the meeting. The meeting was set on the pretext of upcoming assembly by-polls in Uttar Pradesh.

The meeting also saw the discussion of measures to strengthen the UP cadre and appointment of the new state president. Formation of district committees was also taken up. Rajya Sabha MPs PL Punia and Pramod Tiwari were also present in the meeting where the leaders contributed their suggestions to strengthen the party.
