Amid the ongoing tussle, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh is yet to take a call on the resignation of Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu’s resignation from the state Cabinet, sources familiar with the development claimed on Thursday.

Speaking to the media, Punjab Chief Minister, who was in the national capital, on Tuesday had said that he would take a call after reaching Chandigarh. ‘I would decide on his resignation after going through the letter’, he told media on Tuesday in Delhi. Punjab Chief Minister returned to Chandigarh on Wednesday evening.

While earlier on Monday, Punjab Chief Minister had said if Sidhu did not want to do his job, there was nothing he could do about it.

In the meantime, Sources claimed that the grand old party is making efforts to resolve the tussle between the two leaders.

Navjot Singh Siddhu, cricketer-turned-politician, on Monday sent his resignation to Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, a day after he made the resignation submitted to Rahul Gandhi ‘public’. ‘Today I have sent my resignation to the Chief Minister Punjab, has been delivered at his official residence…’, said Congress Leader Navjot Singh Siddhu.

Earlier on Sunday, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Power and New and Renewable Energy Sources Minister in Punjab Cabinet, announced to stepped down from Minister post amid the tussle between him and the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.

Navjot Singh Sidhu submitted the letter to the then Congress President Rahul Gandhi on June 10, however, he made the letter public on Sunday. Singh had on June 10 met Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Ahmed Patel in the national capital. Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, June 6, removed Sidhu as Local Government and Tourism and Culture Minister was an allocated charge of Power and New and Renewable Energy Sources Ministry.

Both Singh and Sidhu were in a tussle since Sidhu visited Pakistan for the swearing-in ceremony of PM Imran Khan. Sidhu during the visit hugged Pakistan Army Chief that had later sparked a big political controversial.

The loggerheads between the two leaders get even more fuelled further with Sidhu’s wife accusing Captain Amarinder was involved in denying ticket for Lok Sabha Polls. Navjot Kaur Sidhu, a wife of Navjot Singh Sidhu, was seeking ticket from Chandigarh Lok Sabha seat and later from Amritsar Lok Sabha Seat.
