Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi is on a three-day tour to his constituency Amethi in Uttar Pradesh. Rahul was earlier denied the permission to visit UP on the grounds of the state administration not able to provide adequate security. However, the UP government later allowed him to visit and the Congress leader reached Amethi on Wednesday.

Responding to the denial of the district administration Congress had alleged that the BJP was scared of Rahul Gandhi’s increasing popularity and the growing stature of the political stature. He is afraid of losing in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, so he is preventing Rahul Gandhi from going to his parliamentary constituency. To this the magistrate had replied in writing that Rahul was never stopped from visiting his parliamentary constituency, he was only informed about the lack of adequate security, keeping in mind the safety of the leader.

This is his first visit to his constituency since Yogi Adityanath took charge as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. As a result, of being unable to pay a  visit to his constituency for almost 7 months, missing posters of Rahul could be seen all around the district.

The Congress leader arrived in Amethi yesterday afternoon and on the first day of his visit, Rahul spoke of the villagers of Kathora village on Amethi and heard their problems. He also, targeting the Modi government at the Centre, criticised the decision of the ruling BJP and hit the government on the deteriorating condition of the farmers and the growing inflation. He also attacked the government over its slowing economic policies.

Today on the second day of his tour, Rahul is stationed at the Munshiganj guest house. He met the common people there and listened to their problems. Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi to address the problems of the people gave necessary directions to the party office bearers of the area for their solution. After this, he visited the Rajiv Gandhi College located in the Mohanganj Pakargaon in Tiloi district.

As per his schedule, he will also be addressing the party workers at Salon district and later will spend the night at Bhuaemau guest house.

While addressing the gathering at Amethi Rahul Gandhi attacked the Modi government and said that BJP does not consult the citizens. He also criticised the government over the implementation of GST and failure to provide jobs to the youths. He said that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assumed office and addressed the parliament in the first 2-3months, he said that NREGA is useless, though a few months later he agreed that it is a useful scheme.

Boasting about his party Rahul said that whenever the Congress forms any scheme, it forms with the consultation and the consent of the people after understanding their feelings and needs. But BJP does not consult the public. Attacking the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiated by the Prime Minister, Rahul said that Modi did not ask anyone, one fine day he just said that he wants a clean India and asked for every citizens’ participation in it.

Further attacking the government over GST, Rahul said that BJP has no knowledge of GST. He added that during the time of Congress there was one GST tax and that was 18 %, BJP launched the GST but the party did not understand the one tax regime system. He further added that the ruling government implemented five different type of taxes and set the rate of tax to 28%.

The Congress VP then attacked the ruling government over the failure of providing jobs. He said that around 30,000 youth enter the market every day, looking for employment and out of them, only 400 are successful in getting employed. This is the result of the Modi government’s Make in India initiative, he said.

Rahul Gandhi said that the Prime Minister talks about Make in India, Swachh Bharat, Startups and much more but he does address one of the major problems of unemployment. He further said that Narendra Modi should stop wasting the time of India and should start giving jobs to the unemployed youth of the nation. He added that there are two major issues in India, one is the farmers’ issue and the other is the issue of unemployment, the ruling government should address these issues first.

Challenging Modi, the Congress Vice President said that if the Modi government is unable to find solutions to these problems than it should confess it and let Congress take over fulfil their unfinished promises. He also claimed that the issues that the Modi government is Unable to solve, Congress will do it in six months.
