Congress National President Rahul Gandhi and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi are likely to skip Mamata Banerjee‘s Grand rally of Opposition Parties called on January 19. Congress Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge is likely to represent the Grand Old Party in the Mega Event sources claimed.

Sources further revealed that Congress move comes after its West Bengal Unit were not in the favor of the Congress Chief sharing dais with the State Chief Minister and TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee. If Sources to be believed, State Unit told Party top brass that workers in the state are ready to go ‘alone’ in the state in the upcoming Lok Sabha 2019 Polls. State Leadership were annoyed after TMC didn’t invited any State Leader for the Mega Event.

TMC is organizing a mega rally to gather support for its mission to forge Pan India anti-BJP alliance for the Lok Sabha Polls. The Trinamool Congress supremo Banerjee has been traveling lengths and breaths of the country over the past one year in a bid to forge a pan India opposition front to take on Bhartiya Janta Party in the upcoming Lok Sabha 2019 elections.

Reportedly, Samajwadi Party Leader Akhilesh Yadav and BSP Supremo Mayawati are also yet to confirm their Participation for the Mega Rally. There were reports about K Chandrashekhar Rao, her Telangana Counterpart is also likely to skip the event. BSP-SP make alliance official; to contest 2019 Lok Sabha elections together

However, TMC Supremo asserted that her mega rally will witness participation of Opposition Parties from ‘Kashmir to Kanyakumari’. She claimed it will be the biggest public meeting in the eastern region in the last four decades.

“You will witness how big the representation will be this year from all regions. Heavy-weight national leaders, including a former prime minister and ex-chief ministers, will attend this meeting,” she told reporters at the state secretariat ‘Nabanna’ reportedly.

The TMC has forwarded invitations to several opposition parties, including the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), the Janata Dal (Secular), the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the National Conference (NC) and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD).

TMC Supremo has also extended invitation to left parties including Kerala Chief Minister Pinnarayi Vijayan. She said ‘I had invited the Left, including the Kerala Chief Minister. I have performed my responsibility. If any party does not want to come due to political compulsions, I respect the decision.”
