Himachal Pradesh will be holding the assembly election on 9 Nov and the counting of the votes will be done on 18 Dec. Ahead of the polls, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi wants to make sure that the party stands as a united party and nail the victory.

Congress in Himachal Pradesh has been facing turmoils within the party, especially between Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and Pradesh Congress president Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. Keeping in mind these differences between the party members, Rahul Gandhi has taken a precautionary measure to prevent any collision during the polls.

Rahul on Friday formed a committee headed by veteran party leader Vidya Stokes to ensure better coordination among various leaders. The committee consists of chief minister Virbhadra Singh, Former Union minister and senior Congress leader Anand Sharma, Pradesh Congress president Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Rajya Sabha MP Viplove Thakur, senior state ministers GS Bali and Thakur Kaul Singh, besides AICC secretary Asha Kumari.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister is the party’s campaign committee.

The committee formed will ensure that there is no wrangle within the party and maintain proper coordination among leaders. It will also make sure that the party fight the assembly polls on 9 Nov as a united Congress and nail the victory.

Congress in Himachal Pradesh will be contesting the polls under the leadership of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.
