Rahul Gandhi appeals to PM Modi for the safety steps for Kashmiri Pandits

After Bharat Jodo Yatra Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He has appealed to take appropriate steps for the safety of Kashmiri Pandits in the letter.

He wrote in his tweet that, “Prime Minister, during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits met me and narrated their sad circumstances. It is a cruel step to force Kashmiri Pandits, the victims of targeted killing by terrorists, to go to the valley without security guarantees. Hope you will take appropriate steps in this matter.”

Along with this tweet, he has also shared the letter. He has drawn the attention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi towards the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community from the Kashmir Valley. He wrote that in the recent past, an atmosphere of fear and despair has been created in the Valley due to the killing of Kashmiri Pandits and others by terrorists.

In his letter, the Congress leader wrote that a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits met with him regarding their problems at the Jammu stage of the ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra to unite the whole of India in the thread of love and unity. They said that the government officials are forcing them to go back to work in the Kashmir Valley.

Rahul Gandhi has further written that in these circumstances it is a cruel step to force them to go to work in the valley without any sure guarantee of safety and security. The Congress leader appealed and wrote that till the situation improves and becomes normal, the government can take services from these Kashmiri Pandit employees in other administrative and public facilities.

He further accused Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and wrote that when the Kashmiri Pandits who are pleading for their safety and family’s concerns are expecting sympathy and affection from the government, then the Lieutenant Governor is using words like ‘beggar’ for them. The experiment is irresponsible.

Appealing to PM Modi to take action on this issue, he wrote that “I have assured the Kashmiri Pandit brothers and sisters that I will try my best to convey their concerns and demands to you. I hope that as soon as you get this information, you will take appropriate steps in this regard.”
