Addressing his first rally after taking Charge as Congress President Rahul Gandhi in Patna on Sunday made another poll promise ahead of Lok Sabha Polls 2019. Gandhi while addressing a rally in Gandhi Maidan in Patna hinted that if his party would be voted to Lok Sabha in 2019, it would waive loans of farmers across the country on the lines of what its newly formed governments had announced in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.

Earlier while Addressing a rally in Chhattisgarh, Congress President Rahul Gandhi pitched for announced that his party would ensure minimum income guarantee for every poor in the country if it returns to power after the Lok Sabha polls due in April-May. Rahul Gandhi while addressing at the ‘Kisaan Abhaar Sammelan’ made the remarks held here to express gratitude to Chhattisgarh’s people, particularly farmers, for voting the party to power in the state after a gap of 15 years.

Reiterating his same promise, Rahul Gandhi in Patna said, if we would come to power in 2019, we will launch the policy of ‘minimum income guarantee to every poor person‘.

During his address hi Patna, Gandhi attacked Bhartiya Janta Party and accused them of handling assets to ‘few’ Industrialists. Gandhi said,  ‘Humne keh diya hai Delhi mein agar Congress party ki sarkar aayegi, humne Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh aur Madhya Pradesh mein jo kiya tha woh poore desh me karne ja rahe hai. Chillalo jitna chillana hai Modiji, jitna bhashan dena hai de do. Aapne sadhe-char varsh mein kuchh nahin kiya, aapne kisan ka karza maaf nahin kiya’ (I have said that if the Congress party forms a government in Delhi, we will do what we did in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh in the entire country. You can shout as much as you want Modiji, deliver as many speeches as you want. You didn’t do anything in the four-and-a-half years, you didn’t waive the loans of farmers).”

He also attacked the BJP led Centre government over Rafale Issue.

Gandhi added, ‘I have said in Uttar Pradesh that Congress party will not play at the back foot but at the front foot. Together with Tejashwi ji & Lalu ji, Congress party will play at the front foot and we will hit a six’

On minimum assured income, Gandhi said: “We are not making any assurance that cannot be fulfilled. Please hear me out with all attention: We will give minimum assured income to each poor person.”

During Congress’ ‘Jan Akansha Rally’ in Gandhi Maidan in Patna, Opposition Leaders including RJD Leader Tejaswi Yadav, LJD’s Sharad Yadav, and Former Chief Minister Jitanram Manjhi also present in the Dias. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath, Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel and Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot were also present in the rally. In his speech at the rally, RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav referred to Gandhi as “PM material”.

Gandhi during his address also attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi several times on many Issues. ‘There used to be slogan of achhe din… Now, there is a slogan – chowkidar…”. On both occasions, many in the gathering completed the rival poll slogans of “…aayenge” and “…chor hai’ He said.
