Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday hosts envoy of 20 G20 Nation over lunch in Taj Mahal Hotel in New Delhi. Apart from Congress Chief, Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi were also present apart from other leaders.

Senior Congress leader Anand Sharma has been given the task to coordinate with the ambassadors and heads of missions of G20 countries for the lunch.

Apart from India, G20 Countries Includes –  Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany,, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States and the European Union.

However, Invitation to Pakistan High Commission has not been to extended amid the ongoing Indo Pakistan Tension.

The Envoys of USA, China along with other G20 Nations were present in the lunch hosted by the Congress Chief.

It is noteworthy that PM Narendra Modi had in 2014 ahead of General Elections held similar kind of discussion and hosted a lunch for envoys of G20 Nations.

The Congress Lunch Programme for Envoys was originally slated for February 15 last month but was postponed in the wake of deadliest Pulwama Terror Attack of February 14 that claimed the lives of 40 CRPF Jawans in Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan based Jaish-e-Mohammed took the responsibility of the deadliest attack.
