Hours after Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar lashed out at Congress President for politicizing his ‘personal visit’, Gandhi on Wednesday evening rejected allegations that he had shared details of a conversation from his meetings with Chief Minister on Tuesday. Congress President Rahul Gandhi in an open letter that he has shared on his social media denied allegations. Gandhi said, “I totally empathise with Parrikar Ji’s situation & wish him well. He’s under immense pressure from the PM after our meeting in Goa and needs to demonstrate his loyalty by attacking me. Attached is the letter I’ve written to him.” (while attaching pictures of the letter).

However, he had not clarified whether Rafale was discussed in his ‘personal visit’ to Goa CM on Tuesday.

‘Earlier on Wednesday, ailing Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar hit out at Congress President Rahul Gandhi. In his letter to Congress President, Parrikar said, ‘I feel let down that you have used this visit for your petty political gains. In the 5 minutes you spent with me, neither did you mention anything about Rafale, now did we discuss anything related to it.’

Goa Chief Minister has written a letter to Congress President a day after Rahul Gandhi quoted CM as said, ‘CM Parrikar told him(Rahul) that he had nothing to new Rafale Deal. While addressing a rally in Cochin on Tuesday hours after meeting Goa CM. Rahul Gandhi, reportedly said, ‘Friends, the ex-defence minister Mr Parrikar clearly stated that he has nothing to do with the new deal that was orchestrated by Mr Narendra Modi to benefit Anil Ambani’.

Attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gandhi, in a rally at Cochin alleged, Gandhi alleged that the new deal on the acquisition of the fighter jets was “orchestrated” by the Prime Minister in order to “benefit” businessman Anil Ambani.

Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday walked into the office of ailing Goa CM Parrikar on Tuesday. Gandhi had later stated that it was meant to be a “personal visit” to the Goa Chief Minister. Earlier this week, on Monday, Rahul Gandhi in a tweet, raised Rafale ‘Goa-Audio’ tapes and said ‘No FIR/ investigation has been initiated against the minister’ while referring to Goa Chief Minister.

The state Unit of Bhartiya Janta Party also asked the Congress President ‘not to politicize a courtesy visit’. Goa ministers of Panchayat, said, ‘It was not the right thing for Rahul Gandhi to do’.
