After a 18 day long vacation, Congress Vice -President Rahul Gandhi is back to India and is all set to organise farmer rallies in all BJP-ruled states of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra. Though many states have announced farm loan waiver but the small and medium farmers will still not benefit from it.
A Congress leader in his statement to ET said that farmers are still demonstrating protest and marches in many states. The distress is not over as they are still committing suicides, Congress state units will hold public meetings and dharnas to put forth the problems faced by the farmers. Huge rallies will be organised under the leader ship of Rahul Gandhi. Apart from the BJP rules states, Congress will also be holding meetings in Tamil Nadu.
During the rallies, the party also plans to highlight the implementation of GST, making the people aware about the differences in the bill introduced during the UPA rule and the bill executed now under the NDA rule. Congress managers are frantically working on the details and the impact GST will have on the people, specially the farmers, cost of tractors, implements and agricultural inputs etc.
