Rahul Gandhi slams PM Modi over his remarks on detention centre

This weekend, PM Modi said there had been no talks on a pan-India NRC — a citizenship verification drive that has so far been implemented only in Assam and accused the Congress and others of spreading the rumor that Muslims would be sent to detention centres.

As per reports, Matia detention centre is being built at a cost of over Rs 46 crore; it will have the capacity to hold 3,000 detainees in Assam. It will house 15 four-storey buildings: 13 for men and two for women.
