Lok Sabha Polls 2019: Rahul Gandhi to hold three rallies in Madhya Pradesh today

As the voting for the last phases of election is near, Congress President Rahul Gandhi intensifying its hunt to make a comeback at Centre will address marathon rallies in Madhya Pradesh to seek votes for his party candidates. As scheduled, Congress Chief is slated to address three rallies in Madhya Pradesh today.

“Congress president Rahul Gandhi and Pradesh Congress President Kamal Nath in a joint visit programme and public meeting today on 14 May 2019: 11:45-Neemuch, 02:45-Tarana (Ujjain) and 04:55-Khandwa. The programme is welcome to all the friends, supporters and functionaries”, tweeted Indian National Congress revealing details of Congress President Schedule.

In Neemuch assembly segments that fall under Mandsaur Lok Sabha Seat, Congress Chief will seek votes for Meenakshi Natarajan who is pitched against Prabhulal Meghwal of Bharatiya Janata Party. The Seat is currently held by Sudhir Gupta of Bharatiya Janata Party.

While later in the day, Congress President will address a rally in Tarana assembly segment of Ujjain Lok Sabha Seat. Party has named Babulal Malviya who is up against Anil Firojiya of Bharatiya Janata Party. The seat is currently held by Chintamani Malviya of Bharatiya Janata Party.

While Congress President will end his campaign trail in the day with a rally in Khandwa. Gandhi will seek votes for Arun Yadav who is pitched sitting MP Nand Kumar Singh Chouhan of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The major political fight in the state is between Bharatiya Janata Party and Indian National Congress.

General Elections is being held in 7 phases from April 11 and May 19. Voting in 29 seats of Madhya Pradesh is being held across in 4 phases: April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19.

Eight Lok Sabha seats of Madhya Pradesh including Dewas, Ujjain, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Dhar, Indore, Khargone and Khandwa will go to polls on May 19, the last phase of polling.

In 2014 General elections, amidst heavy Modi wave, BJP swept MP with 27 seats, while Congress managed to bag only 2 seats in the state.
