Indian National Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Friday urged his party workers to remain vigilant even after voting, claiming electronic voting machines “have mysterious powers in Modi’s India”.

The Rajasthan Assembly Elections was held on Friday, December 7 along with Telangana Assembly Elections. Results of state assembly elections – including those of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Mizoram – will be declared on December 11, Tuesday.

Congress President on Friday tweeted “Congress party workers, it’s time to be vigilant.
In MP, EVMs behaved strangely after polling: Some stole a school bus and vanished for 2 days. Others slipped away & were found drinking in a hotel. In Modi’s India, the EVMs have mysterious powers. Stay alert!

 

Congress Chief Gandhi was referring to reported Incident about EVMs reached a collection centre in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district 48 hours after voting ended on November 28.

In another incident in the state, a blackout of CCTV cameras reported in an EVM strongroom for over an hour.

Indian National Congress’ Naresh Saraf on Tuesday filed a plea in Madhya Pradesh High Court seeking to form a SIT to look after the irregularities in the handling of EVMs in the state. Though HC on Friday dismissed the plea and expressed satisfaction on the steps taken by EC.

Polling in the state was held on November 28 that registered a voter turnout of over 74.6%.

BJP Led by Shivraj Singh Chouhan is facing massive anti-incumbency in the state which is also evident in all Exit Polls. Most of the Exit Polls predicted Congress Coming Back to power after 15 years of BJP rule.

The Counting of votes will take place on December 11 along with other state elections.
