Senior Congress leader and former CM of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot questioned the current government on the investment involved in the ‘Resurgent Rajasthan’ programme and alleged that it was nothing but fraud.

Ashok Gehlot while addressing a gathering in Jaipur’s Civil Lines targeted the incumbent BJP and said, “The government must answer the questions raised about ‘Resurgent Rajasthan’. What happened to all the investment that was promised? Was it a sham?”  Gehlot also took a dig at Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, saying her ‘Gaurav Yatra’ would soon be the road to her exit from state politics.

He said, “The ‘Gaurav Yatra’ will soon turn out to be her ‘Vidaai Yatra’. Vasundhara Raje has cheated the state. All developmental work stopped during her reign. People will realise that. They will teach her a lesson”.  He even further went on to comment on the attire she had been wearing to various events in the state. “Raje will be given a send-off soon as a response to her arrogance,” Gehlot added.

Few weeks ago, CM Raje while speaking at the India Today Woman Summit & Awards in Jaipur exuded confidence of retaining the power in the state. She had said, “Wait for two months, I will be back. We will win. Surveys don’t matter. My government will return on the basis of work being done”.

Meanwhile Congress does not seem to leave the rafale issue anytime soon. Attacking the Centre on the Rafale deal Gehlot said that PM Modi’s popularity graph had come down. “The Rafale deal will sink the Modi government,” he said.

In 2013 Rajasthan Assembly elections the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had secured power  by winning 142 seats while Congress could only manage to win 21seats. The state goes to polls on December 7. Counting of votes will be taken up on December 11.
