The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday released its manifesto for the upcoming Rajasthan assembly elections 2018. The Manifesto titled as ‘Gaurav Sankalp’ was unveiled by  Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, along with Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje in the state capital Jaipur.

Speaking at the press conference, Vasundhara Raje said the BJP government in Rajasthan fulfilled 81 percent of promises of its 2013 manifesto. “BJP met 630 of 665 promises made in 2013 Rajasthan manifesto,” Raje, who is facing a tough fight from Congress Manvendra Singh from Jhalrapatan assembly constituency, said. Highlighting the work done by her government, Raje said loans of Rs 80,000 crore were given out during her tenure.

Targetting youths, Raje promised to create 50 lakh jobs in the next five years in Rajasthan if the BJP retains power. This is similar to what BJP has promised in Madhya Pradesh. She said 30,000 jobs will be given in the government sector every year.

The chief minister also said up to Rs 5,000 per month will be given as unemployment allowance to eligible youths above the age of 21 years.

During the release of the party’s manifesto, Arun Jaitley said the party brought development in every corner of Rajasthan. Every village in the country is now electrified, he said. “Common man is benefiting from the reforms launched by the party. Now the BJP wants to serve people again,” the union minister added

Rajasthan is among the five poll-bound states where assembly elections are considered as a semi-final before the mega Lok Sabha 2019.

The assembly elections in the state will take place in a single phase for all 200 seats on December 7. The counting of votes will take place on December 11 with other four state assembly elections.
