Rajasthan Polls: EC serves notice to Devnani for poll-code violation

Election Commission (EC) on Tuesday served notice to primary and secondary education minister Vasudev Devnani for distributing handbags to people with his pictures on it, in violation of model code of conduct. The notice was served by Ajmer North returning officer Ashok Kumar Yogi

“We received a complaint that Vasudev Devnani was distributing handbags with his photos on it. This is a clear case of corrupt practice. A candidate cannot distribute any article to the voters/supporters when the Model Code of Code is in place,” said the returning officer.

Prior to this, a notice was served to Vasudev Devnani last month for printing achievements of the BJP government and his party on the Diwali greeting cards in violation of model code of conduct.

Vasudev Devnani is contesting the Rajasthan Assembly Elections from Ajmer North seat on Bhartiya Janta Party ticket.

The Polls are slated for December 7 in the state. The results will be announced on December 11 along with other state assembly elections.
