The mood of the Rajasthan Poll is set and both congress and BJP is trying their best to put forth their pitch to the voters. Delivering an intense speech in thursday’s rally in Rajasthan’s Sagwara, Rahul Gandhi talked of PM Modi’s false promises. Addressing the people Rahul Gandhi said, “The advertisements and the Yatras taken out by the government are done on the expense of your money.”  While attacking the BJP government he said that the railway lines that were opened in the congress’ regime in the state had been stopped by the current government. He came down heavily on PM Modi on Rafale deal terming it to be a corrupt deal done by the ‘chowkidaar’. Talking about the previous UPA government he said, “In the UPA’s regime the fighter aircraft was bought at the rate of 526rs crore after a lot of negotiation, while Mr. Modi bought one aircraft at a price of 1600 crore.” He further added, “PM Modi has taken the deal from  HIndustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) which is known to build fighter jets such as MiG and Sukhoi since 70 years and handed over the deal to his friend Anil Ambani who has no experience in making fighter aircrafts.” He accused BJP for working only for a few crony capitalists of India.

He further went to term PM Modi as a thief and coined a one liner, ‘gali gali mei shor hai hindustan ka chowkidar chor h’. He also targeted PM on demonetization and GST. Bringing up the issue of distressed farmers he mentioned that if the Crores of debts of fugitives like Mallya can be termed as non-performing assets then why the loans of poor farmers can’t be waived off. Earlier this year in parliament Rahul Gandhi had also mentioned PM as ‘bhagidaar’ and not ‘chowkidar’.

Rahul Gandhi accused BJP government of pulling-out the railway line and MNREGA from the tribal people in the region. Citing the benefits of MNREGA he said,” A scheme which benefited lakhs of people, which proved to be a lifeline for the poor people, was termed futile by Narendra Modi”.

He promised the youth and the small and medium businessmen that if voted back to power the congress government will focus on the employment of the Rajasthan youth and they will provide a one rate GST. He also emphasized that the people of Rajasthan will be provided a safe and secure environment in Congress government. He said that unlike PM Modi who only conveys his ‘mann ki baat’ congress is interested in people’s ‘mann ki baat’.  Targeting PM Modi, he said that he failed to start his Make in India drive. He said, “Congress’ main aim is to develop Rajasthan and provide youth with employment opportunities”. He also sought more women representation in the party.

While addressing congress party workers, he thanked them for their relentless work and assured them that this time they will decide the candidates and that he will not allow any ‘parachute candidate’ to contest the election.

Putting speculations of any kind of rift in the party, Gandhi referred to a photo of Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot and said,” When I saw that photograph in the newspaper, I was convinced Congress would win the elections this time.”

Rahul Gandhi visited the state for the second time after kick starting the poll campaign in Rajasthan in August. The elections are going to be held in December.
