During the last phase of the election campaigning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the Congress party and blamed the Congress for letting go Kartarpur to pakistan at the time of partition. He said Congress leaders of that time had committed a huge mistake by letting Kartarpur go to Pakistan.

Addressing a public rally in Hanumangarh in poll-bound Rajasthan, PM  Modi said that Kartarpur had gone to Pakistan because of the lack of vision and sensitivity of then Congress leaders.

He added it was primarily because the then Congress leaders had no idea about the importance of Guru Nanak Dev.

“My destiny has been to fix Congress’s wrongs. The holy work of Kartarpur corridor has also come to me. We should ask the Congress this question, why they had let Kartarpur go to Pakistan at the time of Partition. We should ask the Congress why they had not got the corridor built in the last 70 years during their regime,” Modi said.

He also said it is only because of the Bhartiya Janta Party Government that work on Kartarpur Corridor is being done now, he said in a public meeting in a run-up to the Rajasthan Assembly elections.

Arun Jaitley last month in a press conference announced to develop Kartarpur Corridor on the 550th Anniversary of Guru Nanak.

The State is scheduled to poll on December 7 while counting on votes will take place on December 11 along with other state assembly elections.
