Rajasthan Polls: Congress Manvendra making road tough for Raje in her Constituency

Jhalawar district of the Rajasthan state has always been a political center ever since Vasundhara Raje became the Chief Minister in 2003. Being Labelled as the Chief Minister Constituency, Jhalrapatan a small town in Jhalawar district is blessed with one of the best Hospitals and Medical Colleges of the state.

The district got its much awaited Kota-Jhalawar railway line five years back. While work for the Airport at Kolana is Jhalawar is underway. The district has two Industrial Training Institute(ITIs) but youth are still not get enough jobs and rues about lack of job creations. The private spinning ‘mill’ in the district is often blamed for employing ‘outsiders’ more than locals.

Jhalawar often termed as ‘Chhota Nagpur’ because of the large-scale production of Oranges, is also blessed with five rivers making the land fertile. But one can not deny the fact that the region has witnessed maximum numbers of farmer suicide in past 5 years.

Vasundhara  Raje who has won her first election from the place in 1989, seems not in be perfect position this time around. Indian National Congress has aced BJP Former MP and MLA Manvendra Singh against Raje. Manvendra, son of Former BJP Leader Jaswant Singh has joined the Congress recently in October. He was expelled from the Bhartiya Janta Party in 2014 for going against the Party Official Candidate in Lok Sabha elections on his father’s seat.

Manvendra wife, Chitra Singh and a wife of controversial IPS Pankaj Choudhary declared the electoral fight on the seat as a battle of Swabhimann for them.

Both Wannabe lawmakers from the constituency will face each other in the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly Polls. While Sitting Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje will look to retain her seat, while the Congress Candidate Manvendra Singh will change the state dynamic forever.

The results of 200 assembly state will be announced on December 11 with other four state assembly elections.
