Rajasthan Polls: Vasundhara Raje is an irreplaceable leader for state polity

Vasundhara Raje, two time Chief Minister of the Largest State of India, the only women to achieve this coup is leading the saffron army for the four consecutive state assembly elections. Raje, Five-time MP and four-time MLA is among the very few undisputed and Popular leaders in the BJP Rajasthan.

Her Presence in the state is so tall that even when she is away from the state when BJP was in opposition, all the political debate, discussions and political controversies reloves around her. Vasundhara has often remarked that the State Congress is ‘obsessed’ with her. She perfectly fits into ‘Love her or hate her, but you can not ignore her’.

She has spent 5 years of her second terms a Chief Minister amidst everyday rumors of being replaced, between turbulent equations with National Leadership and the Parent RSS, But the National Leadership has no other option but to make her BJP’s Chief Minister Candidate once again. All this have raised stakes for her without a doubt.

Raje born in 1953 in the erstwhile family of Gwalior, her first connect to Rajasthan came through her marriage with Hemant Singh, member of erstwhile royal family of Dholpur in 1972. Raje’s political career began in 1984 as the member of National Executive while she has won her first election from Dholpur in the very same year. The same year, she was appointed as the Vice President of the Yuva Morcha, BJP. She was first elected to Parliament in 1989 in 9th Lok Sabha, the tenure lasted for just two years.

She was the State BJP Chief from 2003 to 2013, leading the parties to victories. Before 2003, she was the Junior Minister in Atal Bihari Led Government.

As the most popular face of the state BJP, most controversies, including the biggest over the leadership in the state directly involves her.
