The Bhartiya Janta Party’s prominent face in Alwar district of Rajasthan, Shri Krishan Gupta resigns from the ruling party and joined its ally Shiv Sena on Monday. He will contest the upcoming state elections on Shiv Sena’s ticket from Alwar (Urban) Constituency.

Gupta was in the race to contest from the Alwar(Urban) Constituency on BJP Ticket.

Gupta’s move came in the backdrop of distribution of tickets in the first list of the party. BJP in the first list has replaced Banwari Lal with Sanjay Sharma from Alwar region. In a shift of tradition, BJP fielded non-Vaishya from Alwar district- a region which has a good percentage of voters from the community.

‘The Vaishya Community have been neglected every time. Two Brahmins have been given tickets from the Alwar District despite the fact that they are less in number in comparison to the vaishyas in the region’ told Gupta to a news agency and confirms his departure from the ruling party. Gupta also accuses BJP of neglecting all internal and agencies surveys.

While Shiv Sena State Chief Rajkumar Goyal confirms that Gupta has joined the party. He said all the party member have unanimously accepted Gupta as the party face in the Constituency.

Goyal further added, “All the Prominent faces of Shiv Sena, Uddhav Thackeray,Aditya Thakrey and Sanjay Raut will come to campaign for him”.

Shiv Sena on a big picture has a very small presence in the state and will only contest on 4 Alwar District seats, both rural and urban.

While BJP has rejected his claims of neglecting any community during the Ticket Distribution. BJP’s District President Sanjay Narooka said: “BJP is a Pluralistic party and all the tickets have been distributed based on the feedback received from the booth level workers”.

Filing of Nomination in the state was started on November 12 and came to a close on Monday, November 19.

The state with 200 seats will go for polling on December 7 while the results will be announced on December 11 along with other four state assembly elections.
