Days after opting out from the Lok Sabha Polls Race, Superstar Rajnikanth on Sunday announced that he will not contest the by-elections slated for 21 Assembly seats in Tamil Nadu. When asked about whether he will contest the by-polls, Superstar said ‘No’. His comment came days after he earlier stated that assembly Polls is his only aim.

Rajinikanth is yet to launch its Political Outfit however, he had in 2017 December announced his political entry. He had earlier he would able to provide good governance on the lines of what the late MG Ramachandran had done.

Replying to a query by a scribe about which party he will support in the by-elections, Superstar chooses to not reveal any details and said he cannot say anything at this moment.

The 68-year-old actor, who has worked in over 200 films, had earlier said not to contest General Elections 2019. ‘I am not contesting the Lok Sabha Polls 2019’ he said while barring anyone from using his image. He added that his main is to contest Tamil Nadu Polls and serve its people.

He had also stated that he will only support those would be resolved the ‘water problem’ of the state. He had on February 17 said and appealed to his fans to support the party who would solve the issue of water. He stated The most important and main problem of the state in the upcoming Polls will be water. People should support only those who can solve the water problem of the state permanently through welfare schemes”

His longtime Cinema Colleague Kamal Haasan had also entered politics last year and floated his political outfit. Kamal Haasan has announced to contest Lok Sabha Polls in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
