The reshuffling of the roles at central cabinet has got a lot of new responsibilities for the young and next-gen leader of BJP. In one such move today, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has got the charge of youth welfare and sports ministry. Earlier, rumours had suggested that Rathore could get a cabinet rank and more substantial responsibilities, however, many of his fans were disappointed after the oath-taking ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan earlier in the morning.
With the latest news that we have now, Rajyavardhan Rathore will continue to hold his previous portfolio of being Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting (Independent Charge). In addition to that, he will also be the minister of state for youth welfare and sports (Independent charge).
A recent report on the functioning of central ministers had held Rajyavardhan Rathore in good lights by praising his working style and terming him as a next-gen leader who had impressed the senior leadership. Though the cabinet rank is still a bit far for Rathore, his functioning till the general elections in 2019 will figure out the responsibilities he will get to hold post the elections, if BJP does or does not make a government.
