Calling abrogation of Article 370 an “internal matter” of India, Bhartiya Janta Party General-secretary Ram Madhav slammed Pakistan government for their hard reactions on the Modi government’s decision.

He said that any nation, whosoever it is, has no ‘locus standi’ on the Kashmir matter. He, as quoted by ANI, told “Pakistan has no locus standi on this issue. Indian Parliament had taken a decision about Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and it’s an internal matter.”
His comments came in response to Pakistan’s decision to go for downgrading the bilateral relation with India. Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a high-level meeting of National Security Committee, where he discussed the situation of “Jammu and Kashmir”. The meeting concluded with the decision that Pakistan will review all bilateral ties with India and take the matter to the United Nation.
The Centre recently passed a bill to abrogate Article 370 which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir. The provision of Article 370 was heavily criticized by Home Minister Amit Shah for obstructing the development of the erstwhile state. The Bill to bifurcate former state into 2 Union territories was also passed in the Parliament. The parliament also repealed Article 35A which gave Jammu and Kashmir government the power to define its residents.
Ram Madhav also told the reporters that if Pakistan wants to take the matter to the United Nations, the Indian government will undertake necessary steps to deal with the same.
The comments came on Wednesday after Lok Sabha passed the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Bill, 2019 with 370 votes in favor, against 70 votes in opposition on the previous day.
