In an exclusive interview to the press, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday morning said that the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is attached to the feelings of the people of India.

He said that crores of Hindus staying in India as well as in foreign countries want that the Ram Mandir should be built in Ayodhya. He further added that according to the Hindu Beliefs, the festival of Diwali is celebrated on the occasion of the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya, his hometown. He also told that Ayodhya holds a major place in the mythological sense and hence the feelings of millions of people are attached to this place.

The Chief Minister said that respecting the feelings of the millions, Uttar Pradesh and specially Ayodhya should be converted to a place of faith for all the Hindu across the world. Yogi informed that for this, the government has already started to take initiatives and will launch a grand ceremony in Ayodhya on the occasion of Diwali next month.

Yogi said that though many feelings are attached to the building of the Ram Mandir, but the final verdict regarding this will be given by the court and that will be followed.

During the interview, Yogi also expressed his views on the criticism that can be seen everywhere against the Modi government on the issues of slowing economy, inflation and failure in implementation of GST. Supporting the decision of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Yogi said that it takes a lot of courage to take decisions like demonetization and GST and the PM has shown this courage. He further added that though these decisions may seem wrong to the people for the time being but it will beneficial for the economy in the long run.

Apart from this, he said on the matter of GST that with the implementation of a single tax throughout the country, the tax system of the country will become transparent.

Giving the example of Venezuela Yogi pointed out that even the government there had done the experiment of note ban, but this counter attacked and as a result, the government fell, but nothing of this has happened in India. He said that the rate at which demonetization has succeeded in India the Modi government should be praised and not criticised for this decision.

He also addressed the Rohingya issue that is prevailing in the nation. The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath said that those in support of giving shelter to the wandering community are wrong. He added that these people who fled from Myanmar called themselves the residents of that country, but still brutally murdered the Hindus and Bodh’s staying there. He further said that if they can do such inhuman thing back in a place what they called them their home, they could do it here also and hence they are a threat and should be sent back. He said that the government has made its stand clear in this matter and those who are supporting it are not correct.

Expressing his grief on the Gorakhpur incident where hundreds of children lost their lives, Yogi said that tragic incident is very saddening and should not have happened. Defending his government the Chief Minister stressed that the death of the children was not due to the lack of oxygen but because of some disease affecting the children. Many children are affected by the disease every year, he said. He also assured that to make sure such incidents are not repeated the government is taking required measures. The government is continuously immunizing the children to get rid of it and till now 92 lakh children are already vaccinated, he said.
