Ramesh Bais on Monday took oath as the new Governor of Tripura in an official ceremony held at the Darbar Hall of Old Raj Bhawan in Agartala. He was administrated oath by the Chief Justice of Tripura High Court Sanjay Karol. Bias is a seven-time MP from Chhattisgarh and also served as a Minister in Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government.

He took oath as the 18th Governor of the state in a ceremony held attended by Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, along with Cabinet colleagues, several MLAs and top officials of the state.

Speaking to reporters after taking oath as the Governor of the state, Ramesh Bias said that the President of India has given him the big responsibility on his shoulders. ‘I shall try my best to work for the development of the state during my tenure’.

He further added that he along with Chief Minister of the state will work towards finding the solutions of the problems faced by people of the state.

While Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said that his experience as a seven-time MP and Minister will without a doubt benefit the government. Chief Minister later also attended the get-together hosted by the new.

‘Attended the get-together with my colleagues hosted by the new Governor Shri Ramesh Bais ji at RajBhavan, Agartala Had a wide range of discussion with him regarding our State & his long experience shall surely help in transforming #Tripura into ModelState’, said Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in a tweet.
