Lucknow: Before going to Ayodhya on Thursday, Spiritual leader and Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on Wednesday met Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath at his residence in Lucknow.

The meeting comes as the spiritual leader has accumulated his efforts to mediate in the Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid dispute and has stressed that he would meet “all stakeholders” to resolve the matter.

Mandir work can begin by 2018, says top Shia cleric meeting Shri Shri Ravi Shankar

Meanwhile, leading the efforts in the national capital, Home Minister Rajnath Singh met a few Muslim clerics to discuss the issue.
On Monday, while addressing a press conference, Sri Sri had said that “dialogue is the only way to resolve the issue” and was confident of a positive outcome on his efforts of mediating the Ram Mandir issue.

Last month, Sri Sri had met Uttar Pradesh Shia Waqf Board Chief Wasim Rizvi in Bengaluru regarding the issue, with Rizvi informing the media that his meeting with the spiritual leader was ” very positive”.

Rizvi had said, “We are the real stakeholders here,” adding that the board welcomes Sri Sri’s initiative. He went on to say that the construction of the Ram Temple can begin as early as 2018.

Shri said that he was not mediating in the issue for government

Sri Sri said that he was doing it at his own will and was not mediating under the influence by the government. “Nobody has asked me to mediate or take any part in it,” Sri Sri had said during an earlier interview with Times Now’s Editor-in-Chief Rahul Shivshankar.

The Supreme Court will be hearing the opening statements on Ram Janmbhoomi for 3 days from December 5. The Supreme Court has stated that the issue has to be settled in a time-honored manner. Thirteen different appeals have been filed against Allahabad high court verdict that divided the 2.73 acres disputed land into three parts among Ram Lalla, Sunni Waqf Board, and Nirmohi Akhara.
