What can be seen as a big catch for the saffron party in Jharkhand, Former Rashtriya Janata Dal‘s Jharkhand unit president Annapurna Devi on Monday joined the Bhartiya Janta Party ahead of the mega Lok Sabha Polls 2019.
Annapurna joined hands with the Bhartiya Janta Party in the presence of Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das and Party’s general secretary Bhupendra Yadav.
Annapurna Devi decision to join the ruling party came a day after Congress finalized alliance terms with its partners for the Upcoming Lok Sabha Polls 2019. RJD is a part of the Congress-led alliance in Jharkhand.

Bhartiya Janta Party may pitch her against Jharkhand Vikas Morcha Chief Babulal Marandi from Kordarma Lok Sabha Seat.
She was suspended by the RJD after the news of her joining BJP emerged. Apart from her former MLA Janardhan Paswan also joined the BJP.
The Bhartiya Janta Party in a run-up to the elections has started rolling out names of Candidates. The party in Jharkhand has so far declared candidates on 10 Lok Sabha Seats out of the total 14 Seats of the state.
The BJP who has forged an alliance with All Jharkhand Students’ Union (AJSU)will take on Congress-led alliance comprising Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Jharkhand Vikas Morcha and Rashtriya Lok Dal.
Mega Battle of Ballots is slated for April-May this year that would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19. Election Commission had on Sunday declared schedule for General Elections 2019.
Results for the crucial Lok Sabha Polls will be announced on May 23 four days after the 7th phase of voting. Voting to 14 Lok Sabha Seats of the state will take place in four phases- April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19.
