Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Rajesh Agarwal on Tuesday announced the first budget of the Yogi Adityanath government for 2017-18 in the state Assembly. The state started its opening day of the budget session of the state legislature on 11 July. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was present in the House when the Finance Minister read the budget.

The budget comprises of an amount of Rs 36,000 crore as farm loan waiver. Finance Minister Rajesh Agarwal said that loan waiver was a promise of the BJP during election manifesto and now it was the time to fulfill that promise. He further said that the main focus will be on the rural development as well as overall development of the state.

The immediate working will start from the backward Bundelkhand to improve the living conditions of the people here. Rajesh Agarwal listed down that other than the overall development of the state some of the other initiatives of BJP government are: single window system, power-for-all, and Make-in-UP etc.

The Finance Minister during his speech also informed the House about the implementations of GST.
