Rukamani Devi joins Samajwadi Party along with four-time MP Ramakant Yadav; Akhilesh Yadav expresses confidence in party’s strength

Samajwadi Party added another feather in its cap when the sister of late Phoolan Devi, Rukamani Devi Nishad joined the party on Sunday. Her joining took place under the auspicious presence of former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and party chief Akhilesh Yadav.

Speaking on the event, Rukamani Devi said that she feels like “home-coming“. Ramakant Yadav also joined the party along with her. Ramakant Yadav is a four-time MP from Azamgarh. He was expelled from the Congress party for “anti-party” activities. Ramakant Yadav had left the Samajwadi party back in 2004. On his return, the leader said: “this is my homecoming after 15 years“.

Expressing his happiness over the new joiners, Akhilesh Yadav said that he is confident of his party winning the next elections as the party is only getting strong in the process.
