Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik apprised the media on Friday that the state administration is fully committed to work out on all the proper measures for the development of Kargil district.

Ladakh will be executed as a separate Union territory from 31 October. Therefore to look after the aspirations of Ladakhi population, the administration is taking a pro-active approach. Governor Satya Pal Malik, while talking to the reporters told: “all safeguards, including 100% employment security, by taking necessary legal measures along with ensuring land safeguards like in other states of the country.”

Previously, Satya Pal Malik also announced the creation of 50,000 jobs for the youths of Jammu and Kashmir. He also said that 50 degree colleges will be set up too. At that time also, he ensured that Ladakh will get its share. Malik said that it will be beneficial for the people of Ladakh if they will be under the direct touch of the central government.

Governor also convened a meeting of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) Kargil, that was tasked with representing the issues and suggestions regarding Kargil development. Jammu and Kashmir administration has assured that the peace is returning to the valley and gradually, things are improving towards ”normalcy”.

Jammu and Kashmir Governor has assured everyone that just within 6 months time, the government will change the face of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh for better.

Centre had earlier abrogated the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and repealed Article 370. Parliament has also divided the erstwhile state into 2 Union territories.
