Uddhav Thackeray on Friday said that the seat-sharing agreement has been finalized. And the decision regarding seats is most likely to be announced in the coming two-three days. The comments from the Shiv Sena leader came to cool off the rising heat over BJP-Shiv Sena alliance.

Speaking to the media, Uddhav Thackeray said that their party have held systematic talks with BJP leaders. He confirmed that the decision has been finalized and the announcement will be made in the coming 2 or 3 days.

It has also been reported that the saffron party is ready to claim 155 assembly seats in the upcoming state polls. According to the earlier reports, Bhartiya Janta Party had quashed the 50-50 seat demand formula of Shiv Sena party. But recent comments from the Shiv Sena chief presents a different picture.

Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut had earlier said his party will snap ties with BJP if the party does not get 144 seats in the upcoming assembly elections. As quoted by ANI, he said “BJP  will have to respect the fifty-fifty formulae that was decided in presence of Amit Shah and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. I am not talking of breaking alliance but what Diwakar Raote has said is not wrong.

Bhartiya Janta Party is also said to be discussing its options beyond this demand. Talks with smaller parties are also going. If this happens, BJP’s seat tally might go up to 173 in total. This will also reduce Shiv Sena’s strength to just 110 seats.

Previously, BJP and Shiv Sena had also tried to come together for the 2014 assembly polls. However, the alliance could not become a reality as the talks failed over the issue of seat-sharing arrangement. Therefore, both the parties contested the elections separately.
