If reports to be believed, Congress Maharashtra ally NCP‘s Chief Sharad Pawar is holding fresh rounds to negotiations to bring both Congress and Aam Aadmi Party in a poll-pact in Delhi. However, this is not the first the time Sharad Pawar had intervened in the alliance of Duo.

Earlier, The Maharastra ally of Congress, Nationalist Congress Party led by Sharad Pawar on pushed Congress to go with AAP in National Capital for Lok Sabha Polls 2019. Congress has been under pressure from other opposition parties to tie up with AAP in Delhi to avoid Division of Votes.

It is noteworthy that both Arvind Kejriwal and Rahul Gandhi was a part of Opposition meeting called at Sharad Pawar’s Residence.

However, the recent intervention from Pawar came amidst reports of DPCC Chief Sheila Dixit and Delhi In-Charge PC Chacko having different views on a poll tie-up with Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party.

Reportedly, DPCC Chief Sheila Dixit has written a letter to Congress President Rahul Gandhi stating that any poll alliance with AAP in National Capital would not benefit the Congress in the upcoming General Elections.

While Delhi In-Charge PC Chacko, as quoted by ANI, said, ‘As far as I know there are senior leaders in Delhi who think that defeating BJP is party’s immediate responsibility; for it we should form the alliance with AAP, that’s the thinking of the majority of leaders’

Shiela Dixit letter to Congress President came days after Delhi unit of Congress last week decided to seek the inputs of its booth-level workers whether to go for an alliance with Arvind Kejriwal-led party in the national Capital to take on Bhartiya Janta Party.

Earlier the Congress has formally rejected AAP’s offer for Alliance in Delhi.

While after facing rejection from Congress, AAP on Sunday announced its seven candidates Balbir Singh Jakhar as an addition to its list of 6 Candidates.

AAP’s announcement about the seventh Candidate came a day after Congress Delhi In-Charge PC Chacko showed his willingness to go with the AAP in a pre-poll alliance. He claimed that the only way to defeat BJP in Delhi is to go together in the upcoming General Elections.

Earlier the Congress has formally declined to forge an alliance with AAP in the National Capital that follows sharp attack from AAP Leaders claiming Congress wants BJP to win in Delhi.

Polling to all seven seats of the national capital will undergo in a single phase on May 12.
