Ending days of rumors and speculations about joining Congress, BJP rebel outgoing Member of Parliament Shatrughan Sinha on Saturday joined Congress days before national Elections 2019. Sinha joined the party in New Delhi in the presence of Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal and Randeep Surjewala.

Party in the run-up to the general elections is likely to filed Sinha from Patna Sahib against Bharatiya Janata Party Leader and Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. The Parliamentary seat of Patna Sahib is currently held by Shatrughan Sinha. Sinha represents the Patna Sahib Parliamentary Seat since 2014.

Hours before joining Congress, Sinha took to Twitter said he has moved from being democratic to autocratic. He said in terms of decision making the BJP had become a “one-man show” and a “two-men army. ‘The differences I have with some of the present people and policies of the party, leave me with no option but to part ways with it’ Sinha said in a series of a tweet.

He further added that ‘I’m hopeful that the Grand Old National Party which I’m stepping into, will provide me with opportunities to serve our people, society, and nation in terms of unity, prosperity, progress, development, and glory.’

‘Congress party, along with the alliance of Lalu and Tejasvi’s RJD. Long live our great India. Jai Hind’, he added in another tweet.

BJP rebel indicated his inclination towards Congress earlier this month when he tweeted “Time has come for Congress Yukt Bharat”. He also hailed Congress President Rahul Gandhi and called him Master of Situation.

Earlier, Bhartiya Janta Party announced the name of Ravi Shankar Prasad to contest from Patna Sahib Lok Sabha Seat, the seat which is currently held by Shatrughan Sinha.

Shatrughan Sinha who has been an MP since 2014, has of late become a critic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Central Government.

Shatrughan Sinha had in January last month launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the public in a Mega Opposition Rally called by TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal.

Sinha was also seen sharing a dais with Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu who sat on a day-long Strike against the Central Government Demanding Special Status to the Deccan State.

Disgruntled BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha has time and again attacked BJP led Government in Centre on various Issues including Rafale Deal, GST, and Demonetization.
