The newly appointed Congress State Chief Sheila Dixit on Tuesday right after taking charge as the President of DPCC rejected speculations about having talks with AAP to forge an alliance for the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls 2019. Dixit reportedly said, “AAP and BJP both are an equal challenge to us, we will meet the challenges together”.

While responding to a query raised by a scribe, three-time Chief Minister Sheila Dixit said, the way the AAP had in Delhi Assembly talked about Former Prime Minister Rajeev Gandhi, we are hurt with this. She hinted that her party will not hesitate in contesting against AAP. Sisodia clarifies AAP fiasco, says Alka Lamba not resigning; No mention of Rajiv Gandhi in original resolution

She also said, ‘The Congress high command led by Rahul Gandhi will decide the profit and loss of the alliance and Grand Alliance, we will follow whatever will be the decision of high command”.

However, the party has also appointed a committee headed by AK Antony to take a call on the alliance.

Delhi Former Chief Minister Sheila Dixit had on January 10 made a stunning Political comeback in the Delhi Politics with the Indian National Congress appointed her the Party-State Chief. She succeeded Ajay Maken who had a step down from the top post citing health reasons. Dixit, the longest-serving Chief Minister of Delhi was among the frontrunners for the top post ever since Maken announced his resignation from the President of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC).

However, there were claims that with the appointment of Sheila Dixit as President of Congress Delhi, there may be a positive approach vis-a-vis alliance with AAP.

There is a buzz that with the resignation of Ajay Maken from the President of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) and HS Phoolka from AAP, the way to cement the alliance is cleared. HS Phoolka, after leaving AAP, asserts to reconstruct 2011 Anna Movement

Reportedly, Maken was having a difference of opinion with the Central Leadership over the issue of alliance with the Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party. ‘Voting Congress will split AAP share’, asserts Arvind Kejriwal amid speculations of an alliance

AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal in the meanwhile has also intensified his attacks Congress and warned people against voting Congress. Kejriwal believes that votes to Congress will cut AAP share and may ensure victory for the BJP.
